Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha has invited Union Home Minister Amit Shah, members of the Union Cabinet, Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers from across the country to visit the historic Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, one of India’s revered 51 Shakti Peethas.
The initiative aims to showcase Tripura’s rich spiritual heritage, cultural legacy, and growing potential in religious tourism at the national level.
In his communication to the dignitaries, the Chief Minister described the centuries-old temple as a timeless symbol of devotion, faith, and communal harmony. With a history of over 500 years, the shrine occupies a special place in the spiritual and cultural landscape of Tripura.
Thousands of devotees from different parts of India and abroad visit the temple every year to seek the blessings of Goddess Tripura Sundari. The temple’s peaceful surroundings, spiritual ambience, and historical importance continue to draw pilgrims and tourists alike.
Highlighting the significance of the annual Diwali Fair organised at the temple premises, Dr. Saha noted that the event attracts lakhs of visitors every year and has emerged as one of the state’s biggest religious and cultural gatherings.
The Chief Minister also pointed out that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, major infrastructure development and beautification projects have recently been completed around the temple under the PRASAD scheme of the Government of India.
Expressing confidence, Dr. Saha said that visits by prominent national leaders would help increase the flow of pilgrims and tourists to Tripura and further strengthen the state’s identity on the country’s spiritual tourism map.
