The Albert Ekka Brigade under the Red Shield Division and Spear Corps of the Indian Army observed the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor with a series of commemorative and outreach events across the city of Agartala, highlighting both remembrance and youth engagement.

The initiative paid tribute to Operation Sindoor, described by the Army as a calibrated tri-services response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. According to official accounts, the operation was executed with precision, targeting terror infrastructure across the border while avoiding civilian and military installations, reflecting what the Army termed “strategic restraint and technological superiority.”

The operation is regarded as a significant milestone in modern Indian military history, underscoring coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force in safeguarding national security.

As part of the anniversary observance, interactive sessions were conducted at leading educational institutions in the city. Officers and soldiers from the Indian Army engaged with students at the Government College of Arts & Craft on May 7, followed by a similar programme at Maharaja Bir Bikram College on May 8.

During these sessions, students were shown multimedia presentations and video footage illustrating the planning and execution of Operation Sindoor. The interactions aimed to provide firsthand exposure to military operations, leadership challenges, and the ethical framework guiding the armed forces.

City-wide commemorative banners were also displayed at key locations, including the Albert Ekka War Memorial and Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, as well as major public centres, to raise awareness of the operation’s significance in the national security narrative.

An Indian Army spokesperson said, “The overwhelming enthusiasm from the youth of Agartala is a testament to the deep bond between the people of Tripura and the Armed Forces. By remembering Operation Sindoor, we do not just celebrate a military success; we honor the spirit of ‘Nation First’ that drives every soldier.”

The Spear Corps reiterated its commitment to fostering patriotism among the youth and ensuring that the legacy of the nation’s soldiers continues to inspire future generations.
