Rajib Bhattacharya, the state president of Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura, expressed strong confidence that the party will secure a decisive win in the elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), paving the way for what he described as a “triple engine government.”
Polling for all 28 seats of the council began at 7 AM and concluded peacefully at 5 PM, recording an impressive voter turnout of around 83%, amid tight security arrangements. Bhattacharya noted that turnout had already crossed 81% by late afternoon, surpassing the participation seen in the 2021 elections.
He thanked election officials, security personnel, media representatives, and voters for ensuring a smooth and enthusiastic polling process. According to him, the high turnout reflects the growing engagement of the electorate in the region.
Highlighting development initiatives, Bhattacharya credited the central government led by Narendra Modi and the state government under Manik Saha for improving key sectors such as education, healthcare, housing, and infrastructure in tribal areas. He added that forming a “triple engine government” in the district council would further accelerate development efforts for indigenous communities.
Reaffirming the party’s confidence, he stated that the BJP is fully prepared to emerge victorious. He also mentioned that the party’s main contest is with Tipra Motha Party, and alleged that certain irregularities were reported in some areas, for which complaints have been submitted to the concerned authorities.
