In a significant anti-narcotics operation, a joint team of security forces achieved a major breakthrough in Kadamtala area under Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura district.

Acting on the instructions of North District Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai, the special operation was conducted on Sunday in Ward No. 4 of Ichaitulgaon village under Kadamtala police station.

During the raid, police and BSF personnel searched the residences of Hafiz Ali and Abdul Hakib. A large quantity of illegal drugs, including yaba tablets and cannabis, was recovered from the premises. However, both house owners managed to flee the scene after getting information about the raid, police said.

Authorities seized a total of 9,750 yaba tablets along with 3 kilograms of cannabis. The estimated black-market value of the confiscated narcotics is around Rs 50 lakh.

Following the seizure, all recovered narcotics were confiscated in accordance with legal procedures. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Kadamtala Police Station, and an investigation has been launched to identify and arrest those involved.

Police officials stated that surveillance will be further intensified to track down the main drug traffickers. They reiterated that the administration maintains a “zero tolerance” policy against narcotics and such special operations will continue in the future to eliminate the drug menace from the region.
