A media report highlighting the hardships of a family living in a remote corner of Jolaibari has prompted MLA and Minister Shuklacharan Noatia to step in with immediate assistance.
The family, residing at Debakanta Para under Srikantabari ADC Village in the Koaifang area, has reportedly been struggling for years due to the lack of a proper access road. Situated in a difficult hilly terrain, the settlement remains poorly connected, forcing family members to negotiate challenging routes for their everyday needs.
Even reaching the nearest main road during an emergency has become a major ordeal for the family. The prolonged lack of connectivity has affected their daily life and access to essential services.
The issue came to light after the family's difficulties were reported in the media. Taking note of the report, Minister Shuklacharan Noatia directed a team to visit the location, assess the family's condition and understand the difficulties they have been facing.
The team subsequently made its way to the remote Debakanta Para and interacted with the family members. During the visit, officials gathered details about their transportation problems and other difficulties caused by the lack of proper connectivity.
The affected family was also provided financial assistance on behalf of the minister.
The minister's intervention has been appreciated by local residents, who said that problems faced by people living in remote hill areas often remain outside the immediate attention of the administration. They welcomed the decision to visit the family personally and extend support after the matter was brought to public attention.
Residents said the visit has raised hopes that the family's difficulties will not end with temporary assistance and that the concerned departments will initiate measures to improve road connectivity in the area.
The incident has also highlighted the wider challenge of ensuring that development reaches the most remote settlements, where poor infrastructure continues to affect access to basic services and opportunities.
Locals are now looking forward to concrete action from the concerned authorities for a lasting solution to the family's connectivity problems and other basic needs.
