Commonwealth Games gold medallist and ace judoka Asmita Dey has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of the South Tripura Nasha Mukt Premier League Football Tournament 2026 marking the fourth edition of the anti-drug sports initiative.

The South Tripura District Administration signed an MoU with Asmita Dey to formally bring her on board as the ambassador of the tournament. Her association is aimed at using the power of sport to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and embrace a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

Asmita, who has made the state proud with her remarkable achievement in judo at the Commonwealth Games, is expected to serve as an inspiring role model for aspiring athletes across South Tripura.

The District Administration highlighted that her sporting journey embodies dedication, discipline, determination and the courage to overcome challenges — values that can strongly influence the younger generation.

Through her involvement in the Nasha Mukt Premier League, Asmita will encourage youngsters to choose the football field over drugs, ambition over addiction and a healthy future over harmful habits.

The tournament, now in its fourth season, seeks to combine sporting talent with the wider social mission of building a drug-free society.

With Asmita Dey as its ambassador, the campaign hopes to strengthen the message among the youth that sports can be a powerful pathway to a healthier, stronger and drug-free life.
