Tripura Police seized 21.100 kg of ganja during a mobile patrol in the NC Nagar area under Sonamura police station on Sunday night.
According to police, the contraband was found abandoned and was seized as unclaimed property. The seizure was carried out after completing all necessary legal formalities.
The approximate market value of the seized ganja has been estimated at Rs 4.20 lakh.
Following the seizure, Sonamura police station has launched an investigation to identify the person or persons who allegedly owned and abandoned the contraband. Police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the recovery as part of the ongoing probe.
