Senior national leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda, on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur on his 118th birth anniversary, recalling his significant contributions to the making of modern Tripura.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah described Maharaja Bir Bikram as a visionary ruler who championed pro-people governance and played a pivotal role in shaping the state. Referring to him as the “Architect of Modern Tripura,” Shah highlighted his contributions to education, infrastructure and administration, noting that his legacy continues to inspire the vision of a developed Tripura.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda also paid homage to the former ruler and recalled his pioneering efforts in laying the foundations of modern Tripura. Nadda said Maharaja Bir Bikram made valuable contributions towards preserving the state’s cultural heritage and that his ideals remain relevant to the pursuit of a prosperous and progressive Tripura.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remembered the Maharaja’s initiatives for the comprehensive development of the state. He highlighted his contributions to agriculture, healthcare, education, infrastructure and communication, while also appreciating his efforts to promote social harmony and inclusiveness among different communities.
Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Dr Sukanta Majumdar, described Maharaja Bir Bikram as a visionary architect of modern Tripura. He said the former ruler’s initiatives in education, infrastructure development and public welfare continue to influence the state’s development trajectory.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin also paid tribute to Maharaja Bir Bikram, saying his far-sighted leadership established a strong foundation for education, infrastructure and good governance in Tripura. He said the Maharaja’s dedication to public welfare and nation-building continues to serve as an inspiration for inclusive development and public service.
