A protest rally was organized today at the India-Bangladesh border by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), expressing strong concern over the ongoing persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. The demonstration took place at the Raghna border, demanding that Indians refrain from using Bangladeshi products.
Leaders of the VHP submitted a memorandum to senior officials at the Indian Customs ORB LCS office, outlining their demands.
The protest was sparked by the brutal killing of Hindu youth Deepu Chandra Das and the continuing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. The VHP emphasized that the protest was entirely peaceful.
Speaking to the media, Birendra Das, the organizer of the rally, stated that participants first gathered at Dharamnagar BBI Maidan around noon. After assembling, they conducted a bike and vehicle rally to the Raghna border, where they staged a peaceful demonstration calling for the suspension of trade and import-export activities with Bangladesh until the persecution of Hindus ceases.
Through this protest, the VHP demanded:
Exemplary justice for the killing of Deepu Chandra Das.
Protection and safety for Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
Strict measures to suspend trade with Bangladesh until the violence against Hindus is completely stopped.
Hundreds of citizens, including Hindus and well-wishers, participated in the rally. Slogans such as “Jai Shri Ram,” “Bande Mataram,” “Victory to Mother India,” and “Hindus of the world, unite” were raised, creating a charged yet peaceful atmosphere at the border.
