Tripura MP Felicitates Commonwealth Games Judo Gold Medallist Asmita Dey in Delhi

Lok Sabha MP and former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb felicitated Asmita Dey, the first Indian woman judoka to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, at his official residence in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Deb congratulated the young athlete for her historic achievement and extended his best wishes for her future endeavours. He praised Asmita for bringing pride to both Tripura and the entire nation through her remarkable performance on the international stage.

“India and Tripura are proud of Asmita Dey’s historic success. Through immense dedication, hard work, discipline and unwavering determination, she has overcome challenges and achieved a rare feat. Her journey will remain a source of inspiration for the younger generation of the country,” Deb said.

He further expressed hope that with the blessings of Mata Tripurasundari, Asmita would continue to bring glory to India in future international competitions and further strengthen the country’s presence in global sports.
