The Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Co-operation, Murlidhar Mohol, Government of India, visited Tulashikhar RD Block and conducted an extensive review of grassroots development initiatives in the presence of the District Magistrate & Collector, ADM & Collector (PPs), along with other senior officials of the district administration.

During the field visit, the Minister undertook a comprehensive assessment of various community-driven programmes being implemented across the block. He interacted warmly with members of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs), commending the “Didis” for their dedication and entrepreneurial spirit in advancing rural development and women-led economic transformation.

The Minister visited Hamthokma Cluster Level Federation (CLF), SHG product stalls, the Plastic Management Unit, Sanjog Canteen, and Oil Palm Plantation sites. He closely examined ongoing initiatives focused on livelihood promotion, enterprise development, environmental sustainability, and income generation.

The SHG product stalls showcased a range of locally produced goods, reflecting the increasing confidence and capacity of rural women entrepreneurs. At the Plastic Management Unit, innovative practices in waste management and environmental conservation were highlighted. The Oil Palm Plantation sites demonstrated efforts to promote sustainable agriculture while enhancing farmers’ income opportunities.

In addition, the Minister visited the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Sub Health Centre, Bagan) to review healthcare service delivery at the grassroots level. He interacted with healthcare personnel, assessed the functioning of the sub-centre, and reviewed the availability of essential medical services aimed at ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for rural communities.

The visit underscored the district administration’s commitment to inclusive growth, women’s empowerment, sustainable livelihood generation, environmental responsibility, and strengthened public service delivery systems. The Minister’s presence and encouragement boosted the morale of community members and officials alike, reaffirming the Government’s resolve to promote holistic development at the grassroots level.

The programme concluded with appreciation for the collective efforts of Self-Help Groups, frontline workers, and administrative officials in transforming rural aspirations into tangible progress.
