The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Forvis Mazars LLP to conduct a comprehensive Skill Gap Study across the state of Tripura.

The study will focus on identifying existing skill gaps among rural youth, with special emphasis on the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) areas.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Kanti Chakma, CEO, TRLM. The initiative aims to map current and emerging employment opportunities, align skill development initiatives with market demand, and design targeted skill training programs for rural youth.

Based on the findings of the study, eligible candidates will be provided skill training and placement opportunities under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0, strengthening livelihood prospects and employability in the state.

In a significant boost to the mission, a total allocation of Rs 23 crore has been sanctioned to TRLM under DDU-GKY 2.0 in December 2025. The funds will be utilized for skill training and placement of rural youth, particularly from disadvantaged and tribal communities.

This collaboration marks an important step towards enhancing skill development, promoting inclusive growth, and creating sustainable employment opportunities for rural youth in Tripura.
