Tripura witnessed normal rainfall during the month of July 2025, recording rain on 26 days, according to the latest update from the Meteorological Department based in Agartala.

The report detailed the variability of the monsoon activity across the month, noting that it remained vigorous on two days, active on four days, normal on thirteen days, and weak on twelve days. Overall, the state received 449.9 mm of rainfall during July, surpassing the normal monthly average of 379.8 mm. This represents a positive departure of 18 percent from the average.

Cumulatively, since the beginning of the monsoon season, Tripura has received 850.9 mm of rainfall up to July 31, which is marginally higher than the seasonal normal of 805.7 mm. This marks a 6 percent surplus for the halfway point of the season.

Among various rainfall stations across the state, Mohanbhog in Sepahijala district recorded the highest rainfall for the month, with 825.6 mm. The most intense single-day rainfall was reported at Belonia in South Tripura, where 295.0 mm of rain fell within 24 hours on July 9.

In terms of district-wise performance, Sepahijala emerged as the wettest district in July, receiving 579.1 mm of rainfall—47 percent above the normal level. In contrast, Unakoti district experienced the least rainfall, measuring only 225.4 mm and registering a 34 percent deficit.

Temperature readings showed that the highest maximum temperature for the month was recorded at Agartala Airport, where it touched 36.1°C on July 23. The average mean maximum temperature throughout July stood at 32.6°C, slightly above the norm with a positive departure of 0.5°C.

Despite regional variations in rainfall, the Meteorological Department concluded that overall monsoon activity in Tripura remained within normal parameters during the month of July.
