Tripura witnessed predominantly dry weather accompanied by frequent fog during December 2025, with dense fog affecting the state on several occasions, especially during late-night and early morning hours.

According to a report released by the Meteorological Centre, Agartala, and shared by Scientist-C Dr. Partha Roy, the state experienced 11 days of dense fog during the month, six of which were categorized as very dense fog days.

Temperature conditions remained largely close to normal. The lowest minimum temperature recorded at Agartala Airport was 11.6 degrees Celsius on December 31. The average mean minimum temperature for the month stood at 13.9 degrees Celsius, which was 0.9 degrees above normal. On the warmer side, the maximum temperature touched a peak of 30.4 degrees Celsius on December 13, while the average mean maximum temperature was 26.3 degrees Celsius, marginally 0.1 degrees below normal.

Rainfall activity across the state was negligible throughout the month. Very light rainfall was reported only in parts of West Tripura district, while the rest of the districts remained completely dry. Overall, only trace rainfall was recorded in Tripura during December 2025, against the normal monthly average of 11.6 mm, resulting in a 100 percent rainfall deficit.

Station-wise data showed that Agartala in West Tripura received the highest rainfall of 0.7 mm during the month. The highest 24-hour rainfall was also recorded at Agartala, measuring 0.7 mm on December 30. Among districts, West Tripura recorded the highest rainfall at 0.2 mm, reflecting a sharp deficit of 98 percent compared to normal levels.
