The Tripura government has announced a series of new initiatives aimed at strengthening administration, education, and social justice across the state. A total of 48 government positions will be filled, including Assistant Survey Officers, Revenue Inspectors, and Junior Drivers, while a new initiative, Nari Adalat, will be introduced in 10 Panchayats to address women's issues at the grassroots level.

Speaking at a press conference, Tripura Tourism Minister and Cabinet Spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury detailed that the Revenue Department will see the recruitment of 6 Assistant Survey Officers and 10 Revenue Inspectors through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Additionally, the Health and Family Welfare Department will appoint 32 Junior Drivers via the Transport Department.

The minister also highlighted steps to support students. The daily stipend for residents of state-run hostels under the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department has been increased from Rs 80 to Rs 100, benefiting 712 students across 33 boys’ hostels, 22 girls’ hostels, and one NGO-run hostel.

In education, the cabinet approved the launch of free coaching centers across the state to prepare students for competitive exams at the national level. In Agartala, a UPSC coaching center will operate from the new building of Birchandra State Central Library, offering 12 months of instruction with 20 hours of classes per week. Coaching for SSC, RRB, and IBPS exams will be available at GDC Ambassa and Netaji Subhash Government College, Udaipur, with 6-month programs and 24 hours of weekly classes. Selection will be merit-based, and only permanent residents of Tripura will be eligible, with each center accommodating up to 100 students.

A landmark social initiative, Nari Adalat, will be launched as a pilot project in 10 Panchayats under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. These village-level courts will provide a forum for women facing abuse or violence, enabling local resolution in their communities. The courts will be managed by committees of up to 9 members, including respected local figures and political representatives. The first centers will be established in Phulbari (North Tripura), Serampur (Unakoti), West Sonatala (Khowai), Lembuchhara (West Tripura), Khedachhara (Sepahijala), Tepania (Gomati), Vivekanandapalli (South Tripura), and Singinala and Halahali (Dhalai).

With these measures, the Tripura government aims to enhance governance, empower women, and provide greater opportunities for students across the state.
