The Tripura government has cleared several welfare measures under the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education to support Antyodaya families and differently-abled persons.
Briefing reporters at the Secretariat Press Conference Hall, Cabinet spokesperson and Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the decisions were taken in the state cabinet meeting held on today.
He informed that under the Chief Minister’s Kanya Bivah Yojana, financial assistance of ₹50,000 will be provided for the marriage of eligible girls belonging to Antyodaya families.
“Under the Chief Minister’s Antyodaya Shraddhajanji Yojana, funeral assistance for Antyodaya families has been increased from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000. The government has also introduced a new scheme titled Chief Minister’s Scheme for Mentally Challenged Persons, under which beneficiaries will receive a monthly allowance of ₹5,000,” Chowdhury said.
Apart from these welfare initiatives, the cabinet also approved the creation of 45 posts of Senior Manager (Electrical) under TSECL, 25 posts of various categories under the Law (PA) Department—including one Process Server (Group-D) and one Driver (Group-C)—and filling up of four vacant posts of CDPO under the Education (SW & SE) Department.
“These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring social security and welfare for the most vulnerable sections of society,” the minister added.
