Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today said that the Tripura government has undertaken several initiatives to make hospitals across the state more people-friendly and equipped with modern facilities.
Emphasizing that healthcare remains a priority sector, he reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening medical services for all sections of society.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating a blood donation camp at Agartala Government Nursing College. Stressing the importance of preventive healthcare, Dr. Saha said, “Prevention is better than cure, and therefore health services have been identified as a priority area by the state government.”
He said the current government is working relentlessly to strengthen Tripura’s healthcare system by integrating modern hospitals, advanced medical equipment, skilled medical professionals, and improved medical services.
“Efforts are being made to ensure hospitals are more people-friendly and modern. One of the primary objectives of this government is to provide quality medical facilities to marginalized and underprivileged people,” he added.
Highlighting recent achievements, Dr. Saha said that the establishment of a dental college in the state within a short span of time reflects the government’s positive vision and proactive approach. He also noted that Tripura is making steady progress across multiple sectors, including health, education, tourism, and communication.
“The current government believes in inclusive development, ensuring equal respect and opportunities for people of all castes and tribes. Today, the people of Tripura can clearly feel the pace of overall development. This is a people’s government, committed to development,” the Chief Minister said. He expressed confidence that the state would continue to move forward with the collective cooperation of its citizens.
Calling upon citizens to actively participate in blood donation, Dr. Saha said it is not merely a ceremonial activity but a profound humanitarian act.
“Blood has no caste or religion, and there is no substitute for it. Voluntary blood donation saves lives and strengthens human values. It reminds us that humanity is the greatest religion,” he remarked.
