In a surprise move, State Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma today conducted an unannounced inspection of the Tribal Welfare Department. Without any prior notice, the minister visited the department and inspected various sections and offices, reviewing the overall functioning on the ground.
During the inspection, the minister took stock of the department’s day-to-day operations, quality of services, and the attendance of officials and staff. He expressed satisfaction with the overall management and service delivery of the department. At the same time, he issued necessary instructions on certain aspects to make the services more efficient, dynamic, and people-oriented.
Following the inspection, Minister Debbarma held an impromptu meeting with departmental officials and staff. The meeting focused on expediting departmental work, ensuring quicker resolution of public grievances, and maintaining transparency and accountability in service delivery.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, the minister said that the purpose of the surprise visit was to ensure that the services of the Tribal Welfare Department reach the common people more effectively and that service standards continue to improve. He also assured that such surprise inspections would be conducted in the future as well.
