The Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura (TRBT) has officially published the results of the much-awaited Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) – Paper I and Paper II for the 2024–25 academic session. Over 2,000 aspiring teachers have successfully cleared the examination.
However, despite the results being announced, the candidates are yet to receive their certificates — a delay that has led to widespread frustration and concern among the successful candidates.
On Monday morning, a group of TET-qualified candidates gathered at the TRBT office and met with the Board’s Chairman to demand the immediate distribution of their certificates. They argued that without the certificates in hand, they are unable to participate in upcoming recruitment processes. The absence of a clear timeline for certificate issuance, even weeks after the results, has further intensified their dissatisfaction.
The candidates alleged that there is a severe shortage of teachers in many government and aided schools across Tripura. Several schools are reportedly functioning without subject teachers, which is seriously affecting the quality of education. They pointed out that the number of vacant teaching posts in the state far exceeds the number of candidates who have cleared TET this year.
In view of this, the candidates have urged the government to initiate recruitment for all qualified TET candidates at once. They emphasized that prompt action is necessary both to improve the state’s education system and to reduce unemployment among educated youth. Calling the delay in certificate distribution “unjustified,” they warned that if the process is not expedited soon, they will be forced to launch a larger protest movement in the coming days.
