Nineteen evicted families from the South Joypur area have once again approached the government, demanding permanent rehabilitation. According to the families, despite submitting multiple applications and raising their concerns repeatedly over a long period, no effective steps have yet been taken by the authorities.

Left without any permanent shelter, the families claim they were compelled to take refuge on a vacant piece of government land in the South Joypur area. They stated that the decision was made out of necessity, as they have no stable place to live. “We only want a permanent roof over our heads,” one of the affected residents said, emphasizing that they have no intention of causing harm or disturbance.

However, the move has sparked discontent among a section of local residents. Some locals have objected to the families settling on the government land, citing various social concerns and arguing that the site should not be used for residential purposes. The disagreement has led to rising tension in the area.

The evicted families have strongly denied the allegations made against them. They insist that they wish to live peacefully and are seeking only basic housing rights. Meanwhile, individuals who previously used the government land have also presented their concerns and have called for administrative intervention.

With tensions mounting, residents from all sides are urging the administration to step in and resolve the matter at the earliest to prevent further unrest.
