Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ campaign on September 17, marking a historic initiative to strengthen healthcare and nutrition services for women, adolescents, and children across the country. 

In Tripura, the state-level programme will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha at the Government Medical College and GBP Hospital, Agartala, immediately after the nationwide launch via video conference.

As part of the campaign, which will continue till October 2, more than one lakh health camps will be organized across the country, making it the largest healthcare campaign for women and children so far. In Tripura, a total of 152 health camps, 7,231 awareness camps and 40 blood donation camps will be held across districts. A special health camp will also be organized at GBP Hospital during the state-wide inauguration.

Health stalls covering 14 key health services are being set up at the venue, with dedicated stalls for Medicine, Pediatrics and Gynecology departments. Specialist doctors will provide OPD services, ensuring free consultations for the public.

The campaign in Tripura will emphasize 12 preventive health programmes, including check-up and counselling of pregnant women, child health and vaccination, adolescent health services, NCD screening, oral-breast-cervical cancer screening, anaemia and menstrual health awareness, TB screening, mental health awareness, nutrition services, sickle cell anaemia prevention, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Digital Mission services, elderly health services, and AYUSH services.

The inaugural ceremony will be attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Health and Family Welfare Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, NHM Mission Director Saju Wahid A, Director of Health Services Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Majumder, Director of Family Welfare and Immunization Dr. Anjan Das, and other dignitaries.

The state health department informed that along with health check-ups, Eat Right Movement, body donation and blood donation camps will also be conducted during the campaign period to encourage holistic health awareness among the people of Tripura.
