Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated development works at the Mata Tripurasundari Temple Complex in Udaipur, Gomati District, Tripura.

 At 3 PM, the Prime Minister performed a formal puja at the Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peeths, marking the inauguration of the Tripura Sundari Temple Development Project.

The Central Government has allocated Rs. 34.43 crore for various development initiatives under the PRASAD Scheme, while the State Government has contributed an additional Rs. 17.61 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi said, “I reviewed the works at the Mata Tripurasundari Temple Complex. Our focus is on attracting more pilgrims and tourists to the temple while showcasing the natural beauty of Tripura. On the first day of Navratri and during the divine Durga Puja season, I had the opportunity to pray at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Tripura. I prayed for the well-being and prosperity of all Indians.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Rajib Bhattacharya, and other members of the state cabinet.

The temple’s chief priest, Chandan Chakraborty, conducted the rituals with traditional chanting of mantras. During the puja, PM Modi offered 108 lotus flowers, a silk saree, traditional Udaipur pithas (sweets), and a variety of fruits to Mata Tripureshwari.

He also performed circumambulation of the temple and offered prayers at the Shiva temple located within the complex.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister arrived at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala on a special aircraft, where he was welcomed by Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, and Director General of Police Anurag. From Agartala, he flew by helicopter to the Palatana helipad, where he was received by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, and other dignitaries.

Along the route from Palatana helipad to the temple, cultural programs were held, and thousands of people lined the streets to greet the Prime Minister enthusiastically.
