Tripura’s SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Thursday chaired a review meeting at the Secretariat to assess the functioning of the SC Welfare Department and take stock of its ongoing programmes.
The meeting was attended by the department’s Special Secretary, Director and other senior officials. Discussions centred on the implementation of welfare schemes, progress of development projects and the department’s priorities for the coming days.
The Minister sought detailed updates from the officials on various initiatives and reviewed the challenges affecting their implementation. He called for greater coordination among officials and timely execution of welfare programmes so that the benefits reach eligible members of the Scheduled Caste community without unnecessary delays.
Das emphasised that departmental programmes should focus on measurable outcomes and directly contribute to the socio-economic development of the community. He also urged officials to identify areas requiring greater attention and strengthen monitoring mechanisms.
The Minister further stressed the importance of effective planning for upcoming initiatives and directed the department to adopt a more proactive approach in delivering welfare services.
The meeting concluded with a focus on accelerating ongoing activities and preparing a comprehensive roadmap for future welfare and development programmes aimed at empowering the Scheduled Caste community in Tripura.
