A startling allegation has emerged from the Dinadayal Panchayat in Kamalasagar constituency under Tripura's Sepahijala District where a living man claims he was fraudulently declared dead to facilitate the illegal transfer of his ancestral property.

The accusation has been leveled against Rina Chakraborty, a ward-level leader of the ruling party, along with her husband Sukumar Chakraborty and brother-in-law Pankaj Chakraborty.

Shankar Chakraborty, the alleged victim, stated that the trio conspired to have him declared deceased and obtained a fake death certificate. Using this fraudulent document, they allegedly registered his father’s property in their names.

Speaking to the media, Shankar Chakraborty said he had been residing outside the state for work for several years. Upon returning home recently to discuss the division of his ancestral property, he was shocked to discover that, on paper, he was listed as dead and his property had been unlawfully taken.

Chakraborti further claimed that he faced intimidation after raising objections. He alleged that he was threatened with knives and sticks, and even warned that he could be killed if he exposed the matter publicly.

Feeling helpless, Shankar Chakraborty has approached the media, urging the administration to investigate how a living person could be declared dead and a death certificate issued. He has demanded the immediate return of his ancestral property and that all individuals involved in the alleged conspiracy be brought under legal scrutiny.

This case has sparked widespread concern in the constituency, raising serious questions about administrative oversight and the misuse of official documents for personal gain.
