Art develops our mental growth, teaches patience, increases attention, and awakens a sense of beauty. A student must engage in extracurricular activities along with studies.

This was informed by Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath today after inaugurating the Art Society Programme at Mohanpur Municipal Council.

The Minister said that the present state government has given special importance to the development of art and culture along with education.

“Getting good marks in exams alone will not work; one has to be sensitive and creative. Innovative ideas are necessary. I urge students to keep art and culture as a part of their lives along with studies. Do study, but extracurricular activities are necessary so that one can also earn something. There are many painters in the world as well as in our country. Such artists are working and earning very well,” said the Minister.

He said that apart from studies, one must think beyond academics, such as becoming dancers, cricketers, artists, etc.

“A picture can speak a thousand words. There is a story of feelings hidden within colors. Art touches the heart through the eyes. Art is a unique expression of human thought and creativity. Painting is not just a game of colors and brushes—it is the language of the mind, the expression of feelings, and the embodiment of imagination. When a child paints a picture, he portrays his joy, sorrow, dreams, and thoughts on canvas. What cannot be said in words is easily expressed through art,” he said.

The Minister informed that in today’s fast-paced and technology-dependent era, the importance of art practice has increased even more.

“Art develops our mental growth, teaches patience, increases attention, and awakens a sense of beauty. Through painting, children’s creative thinking is developed, which helps them succeed in any professional field in the future,” said the Minister.

He said that the government wants students not only to do well in exams but also to develop into sensitive, creative, and humane individuals.

“I would like to tell all students to make art a part of their lives along with their studies. Paint your dreams in different colors. With your help, a beautiful, peaceful, and creative society of the future will be built. Artists can earn money by selling their paintings in art galleries, exhibitions, or online platforms. Nowadays, there are also opportunities to sell paintings directly to buyers through social media,” he said.
