Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the CPI(M) is gradually losing its presence in the state as it continues to remain trapped in a negative mindset, while the BJP, being a people’s government, will continue to move forward with the trust and support of citizens.
Dr. Saha was speaking at a mega blood donation camp organized by the BJP Tripura Pradesh OBC Morcha to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday.
He lauded the Morcha’s efforts, noting that nearly 100 volunteers came forward to donate blood under the “Sewa Pakhwada” initiative, which includes a series of social service activities planned by the party.
Highlighting the state’s progress, the Chief Minister said, “Tripura ranks second in the Northeast in terms of GSDP and is also ahead in per capita income. Our government has been prioritizing infrastructure, increasing the state budget, and ensuring welfare for every community. With around 40% of the population belonging to the OBC category, we are committed to their development along with that of all citizens.”
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dr. Saha said no other Prime Minister has worked so inclusively for all sections of society. He accused the opposition of spreading misinformation through selective narratives.
“The opposition tries to highlight problems while ignoring the solutions we provide. For example, heavy rainfall damaged several roads, but immediate repair work was initiated. Instead of acknowledging initiatives like GST or Operation Sindoor, they focus only on criticism. This negativity is why CPI(M) is vanishing,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister also underlined the government’s push for women’s empowerment and support to self-help groups, stressing that the BJP’s guiding principle is Sewa hi Sangathan (service is organization).
“People trust this government because it is transparent and connected with the public. Unlike the opposition, we believe in development, inclusivity, and service. The BJP is a government of the people, and it will continue to remain so,” Dr. Saha asserted.
