Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today asserted that no force can prevent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from forming the next government in West Bengal, alleging that the state has been ruined by the party currently in power and is being pushed towards becoming a “mini Pakistan”.

Addressing an organisational meeting at Araliya Community Hall, Dr. Saha said fear reflects weakness and those driven by fear can never bring meaningful change to society.

“Those who once opposed the CPIM are now standing together merely to contest elections. What kind of politics is this? These are clear signs of fear,” he said, adding that democracy allows everyone to express their views, but the CPIM has mastered the art of spreading falsehoods.

Recalling past political developments, the Chief Minister said the Congress had several opportunities to act against the misrule of the CPIM but betrayed public trust for electoral gains. “Only now have people fully understood how the CPIM ruled the state for 35 long years,” he remarked.

Dr. Saha emphasised that consistent work is the only path forward. He said the double-engine government is functioning at full pace and predicted that the CPIM would soon be politically irrelevant.

“The BJP works solely for the welfare of the people, while the opposition remains self-centred. Despite enjoying government benefits, they keep shifting their stance,” he said. Reiterating the party’s ideological roots, he added, “We follow the principle of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay—service to humanity is service to God.”

Highlighting changes after 2014, Dr. Saha said the country, especially the North East, witnessed significant progress following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. “We are not a party of violence. We act within the framework of the law and are committed to building a ‘New Tripura’,” he said.

He further urged party workers to focus on the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and the ten seats currently held by the CPIM. Criticising the Left regime, he alleged that violence and terror defined their rule, with people forced to seek help from party offices and justice remaining elusive.

“Many lives were lost during their tenure, and even their own minister was killed. But since our government came to power, there has not been a single political murder,” Dr. Saha claimed.

Calling for vigilance, the Chief Minister urged citizens to safeguard the state from divisive forces. Referring again to West Bengal, he said people are raising their voices against attempts to distort its social fabric.

“Trinamool Congress has destroyed Bengal, which was once the birthplace of great thinkers and iconic personalities. The people are now ready for change, and BJP’s victory is inevitable,” he added.

The meeting was attended by Member of Parliament and BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, along with several senior party leaders.
