A team from the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) conducted inspections across various parts of the city on Saturday to assess alternative locations for small traders who were recently evicted. Authorities assured that arrangements would be made promptly so that traders could resume their business activities without disruption.

The inspection team included the AMC Commissioner, the CEO of the Smart City Project, and other senior administrative officials. They visited areas near IGM Hospital and Bottoal, reviewing potential relocation sites for the affected traders.

Speaking at the site, Sajju Wahid noted that while designated areas for small businesses already exist in the city, many traders had been operating on the streets instead, causing traffic congestion and public inconvenience. The eviction drive was conducted to address these traffic issues.

He further emphasized that along with the eviction efforts, the administration is giving equal importance to the rehabilitation of small traders. The designated areas are being evaluated for existing problems, which will be resolved, and additional alternative sites are being identified to ensure traders can operate smoothly.

The authorities have assured that the designated locations will soon be communicated to the traders. Through this initiative, the AMC aims to ease traffic congestion in the city while also safeguarding the livelihoods of small traders.
