With the Kalbaisakhi season fast approaching, Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the state's readiness to tackle potential disruptions in electricity services caused by nor'westers.
The meeting, held at the corporate office of the Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL), focused on preventive measures and response mechanisms.
The Power Minister highlighted the extensive damage the state’s power infrastructure suffered during the 2024 floods, when several transformers and other vital equipment were destroyed.
Taking to Facebook, Nath informed that he interacted via video conference with all Assistant General Managers (AGMs) and Deputy General Managers (DGMs) across Tripura to review the department's preparedness for the upcoming Kalbaisakhi storms and the monsoon season.
“I have given necessary instructions to all officials, and they have assured full preparedness to handle any emergency situation,” Nath said. “I also urge the people of the state to cooperate with the department during this period.”
The minister’s proactive review underscores the government's focus on ensuring uninterrupted power supply and swift response to weather-related challenges.
