Tripura Congress MLA alleges India’s Foreign policy is dictated by US under BJP regime

Former Tripura Minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Tuesday claimed that under BJP’s rule, India's sovereignty is at stake as they have started dictating the terms of India’s foreign policy after US President Donald Trump.

Addressing a Congress rally in Agartala, Roy Barman said that in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Piyush Goyal, Minister of Industry and Supply of India, the US President and his cabinet announced policies for India, which is shameful.

Roy Barman further said that the Indian economy is dwindling every passing day. When Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left office in 2014, India’s debt burden was Rs 50 lakh crore, but unfortunately, during PM Modi’s regime over the past decade, it has risen to Rs 182 lakh crore. Foreign investments are being withdrawn from the Indian market because of BJP’s appeasing policies toward Adani and Ambani, which have caused a sudden fall in the share market.

Taking a swipe at the ruling BJP, Roy Barman accused the party of failing Tripura’s unemployed youth.

“In the last seven years, over 30,000 government employees have retired, leaving numerous posts vacant. BJP leaders claim they have created 13,000 jobs during this period, but in reality, their promises have failed to materialize. The government is toying with unemployed youths. It is a regime built on commissions and corruption. BJP leaders have even turned to land brokerage, illegally seizing land from others. The recent announcement by BJP National President JP Nadda about providing scooters to girl students after board exams is nothing but a false promise. This government is drowning in corruption, and the people of Tripura are suffering. Businessmen live in fear, and democracy is in peril. A political earthquake is on the horizon in the state,” he warned.
