Tripura Police arrested a man late Tuesday night for allegedly gang-raping his wife, reportedly in collaboration with five others.

According to police officials, the victim's father filed an FIR against the husband, identified as Subrata Dey, a resident of Jogendra Nagar in Agartala, accusing him and his friends of the crime.

"On March 14, the victim's father lodged a complaint at Amtali police station against Subrata Dey and five others. A case was registered, and sub-inspector Sushmita Debnath launched an investigation. Based on preliminary findings, police arrested Subrata Dey on Tuesday night, while the other accused remain at large," an officer stated.

On Wednesday, police produced the accused before the court, seeking his remand for further investigation.
