As the Tripura Legislative Assembly gears up for the crucial Budget Session 2025-26, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha convened a strategic meeting with legislators from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tipra Motha, and the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) at his official residence.
The session, set to begin on March 21 and conclude on April 1, is expected to witness extensive discussions on state finances and key policy decisions.
The meeting aimed at fostering coordination among lawmakers ahead of the budget presentation. Taking to Facebook, CM Saha stated, “Ahead of the Budget, today chaired a meeting with the Legislators of Bharatiya Janata Party, Tipra Motha & IPFT at my official residence & discussed various important matters.”
The Business Advisory Committee, chaired by Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen on March 12, finalized the session's schedule. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath emphasized the significance of the discussions, stating, “We want more deliberations that benefit everyone. If needed, we may consider extending the duration of the assembly sessions in the future.”
With the budget to be tabled on the very first day, followed by a Question Hour, political observers anticipate key allocations in infrastructure, health, and indigenous welfare. Speculation is also rife about new government bills that may be introduced during the session.
As the state prepares for an intense legislative debate, all eyes will be on how the government balances economic priorities with public expectations.
