The budget session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly for the financial year 2025-26 is set to commence on March 21 and will conclude on April 1.
A meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held today at the Tripura Legislative Assembly, chaired by Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker Ram Prasad Paul, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy, ministers from the treasury bench, and opposition MLAs, including Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury.
Following the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath stated that the session’s schedule was decided after discussions with the opposition. “We have agreed to utilize weekdays effectively and extend the session to ensure in-depth discussions on the 2025-26 budget. Both the supplementary and revised budgets will be tabled. The treasury bench is keen on extensive deliberations to benefit all stakeholders. Our government is committed to development, and we welcome constructive suggestions from the opposition. In the future, we may consider further increasing the duration of assembly sessions,” he said.
Minister Nath further informed that the session will begin with the presentation of the budget on the first day, followed by the Question Hour. The introduction of government bills is also a possibility, but further clarity on this will be provided in due course.
