The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated the second anniversary of its government in Tripura with a massive public gathering at Swami Vivekananda Maidan, where Union Health Minister and BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda announced two new welfare schemes for the girl child in the state.
Addressing thousands of party supporters, Nadda unveiled the Mukhyamantri Balika Samridhi Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana, aimed at improving financial security and educational incentives for young girls. Under the first scheme, every girl born into a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family will receive a ₹50,000 bond from the state government, which will mature into ₹10 lakh when she turns 18.
Meanwhile, the second scheme will provide scooties to 140 meritorious girl students, expanding on an earlier initiative that benefited 100 students.
Hailing the achievements of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha’s government, Nadda stated that the BJP’s governance model ensures direct benefits to the people without bureaucratic delays. "This enthusiasm among the people reassures me that Dr. Manik Saha's government is truly the voice of the people," he said.
He also credited the BJP for transforming Tripura into a peaceful and development-oriented state over the past seven years, contrasting it with the "dark days" under the previous Communist regime. According to Nadda, crime rates have declined by 20% since the BJP took charge.
In a sharp attack on the opposition, he accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Congress of forming an opportunistic alliance to regain power. "For decades, Tripura suffered under CPIM rule, witnessing violence, bloodshed, and lawlessness. Now, in desperation, CPIM and Congress have joined hands, but the people of Tripura have rejected their politics of chaos," he asserted.
Nadda also reminded the gathering of BJP’s consecutive electoral victories, including its success in both Lok Sabha seats from Tripura in 2019 and 2024. He reiterated that BJP’s governance is based on service, not power, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has ensured inclusive development across the nation.
