Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday visited the sacred Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, popularly known as Mata Bari, in Udaipur to review the ongoing preparations for the possible visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to inaugurate the renovated shrine.
Accompanied by public representatives and senior administrative officials, Dr. Saha inspected the temple premises where the final touches are being given to beautification and infrastructure works under the Central Government’s PRASAD project.
The centuries-old temple, one of the 151 revered Shakti Peethas, has been undergoing extensive development to enrich its facilities and spiritual ambience for devotees.
After offering prayers at the sanctum, the Chief Minister interacted with the media, stating:
“I came here to see the preparedness. Though we cannot confirm the exact date and time of the Prime Minister’s visit as it may change, the state administration is fully prepared. Today, we reviewed all arrangements with ministers, MLAs, and senior officials to ensure the work is completed at the earliest.”
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Bagma MLA Rampada Jamatia, Matabari MLA Abhishek Debroy, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Director General of Police Anurag, the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Gomati district, along with several senior officers.
The much-awaited project, aimed at preserving the cultural heritage while improving pilgrim facilities, is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the coming days.
