TIPRA Motha to meet CEC on July 23 on implementation of Special Electoral roll revision in Tripura

The TIPRA Motha Party, led by its founder and royal scion Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, is set to meet the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India on July 23 at 11:00 AM in New Delhi.

According to party sources, the delegation will raise several pressing issues related to the electoral process in Tripura, with a key demand being the implementation of a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral roll — similar to the recent revision exercise conducted in Bihar.

The TIPRA Motha delegation will include senior leaders from the party and the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). Among them are TTAADC Chief Executive Member Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chairman Jagadish Debbarma, Executive Members Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma, along with MLAs Ranjit Debbarma, Pathan Lal Jamatia, Philip Kumar Reang, and MDC Sadagar Kalai.

The party maintains that a Special Revision is crucial to ensure the accuracy of the voters’ list, particularly in tribal areas, which they claim have been affected by irregularities and the presence of alleged illegal migrants.

The delegation is expected to present detailed representations and supporting data to the Election Commission during the meeting.
