A group of unemployed candidates who have qualified in the TET-II examination took to the streets once again, demanding immediate completion of the teacher recruitment process in the state.

The protestors gathered today at the City Centre area, raising slogans and staging a demonstration. During the protest, they attempted to march towards the residence of the Finance Minister to submit their demands. However, police intervened and stopped the procession midway. As tensions escalated, the police detained the protestors and shifted them to the AD Nagar ground.

According to the demonstrators, the state government had issued a recruitment notification nearly a year ago for 1,033 posts under TET-I and additional vacancies under TET-II. Around 1,400 candidates reportedly qualified in the TET-I examination. Despite this, the recruitment process has not yet been completed.

The protestors alleged that they have repeatedly approached the Chief Minister and other ministers over the past year, but no concrete steps have been taken to address their concerns. Frustrated by the delay, they organized today’s protest in front of the Finance Minister’s residence.

The agitating candidates stated that despite qualifying the TET examinations, they have been deprived of employment opportunities for a long time. Their primary demand is for the government to expedite and complete the recruitment process at the earliest to address the shortage of teachers in the state.

Police presence remained strong in the area to prevent further escalation, and the situation was eventually brought under control.
