The Government of Tripura has reiterated its commitment to building a strong and dynamic startup ecosystem, with a clear focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and improved access to finance.

In line with this objective, Jeya Ragul Geshan B, IFS, Director of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, led a high-level meeting with representatives from financial institutions, banks, and officials from the Directorate of Information Technology. The discussion was part of the District Business Reform Action Points (DBRAP) 2025, an initiative aimed at enhancing ease of doing business at the district level.

The meeting primarily focused on improving startups’ access to formal credit. Participants explored ways to expand the reach and efficiency of key financial schemes such as the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS), Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (MUDRA), Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

A major highlight was the emphasis on simplifying loan procedures and ensuring better coordination between financial institutions and entrepreneurs. Stakeholders discussed practical steps to bridge existing gaps, speed up loan approvals, and increase awareness about available financial support among startups.

Officials stressed that easier access to credit is crucial for empowering entrepreneurs, especially in emerging sectors, and for driving sustainable economic growth in the state. By streamlining processes and aligning institutional efforts, Tripura aims to create a more supportive and innovation-friendly business environment.
