In response to the All India State Government Employees' Federation's call for a nationwide strike on May 20, the Tripura Government has issued a directive mandating uninterrupted functioning of all state government offices, undertakings, and affiliated organizations on the day.
The directive, signed by Debjani Deb Sarkar, Joint Secretary, notes that the strike has been called to press for several demands, including the regularization of contractual employees and an end to contractual, outsourced, and daily-wage employment.
The order further states that the Tripura Employees' Coordination Committee (H.B. Road) has extended support to the strike and encouraged participation from state employees and teachers.
However, the government has made it clear that all government offices and associated organizations are expected to operate normally, and all employees are required to report for duty as usual on May 20.
“Any deviation from these instructions will be viewed seriously,” the order warns.
All Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, and Heads of Departments have been instructed to communicate the directive to employees under their jurisdiction.
Additionally, they must submit a report on attendance in their respective offices and undertakings to the General Administration (AR) Department by 12:00 noon on May 20.
