In a significant move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery, the Government of Tripura has signed a landmark tripartite agreement with the Skill Development Commission and Karmayogi Bharat to provide state government employees with extensive skill development training.
The agreement was formalized during a ceremony held at Pragya Bhavan, with key attendees including Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Apurba Roy (Secretary of the General Administration [P&T] Department), Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam (Member of Human Resources, Skill Development Commission), Joint Secretary S.P. Roy, and Shobhana Rana (Advisor to Karmayogi Bharat).
On behalf of the Tripura Government, Apurba Roy, Dr. Balasubrahmanyam for the Skill Development Commission, and Shobhana Rana from Karmayogi Bharat signed the agreement.
In his address, Chief Secretary JK Sinha stressed that the collaboration would empower government employees by enhancing both their professional and personal skills, ultimately improving their service delivery and strengthening their relationships with the public. He also highlighted the recognition Tripura’s officers received at the national level, noting that four officials from the state were honored with the Prime Minister’s Excellence Award during the Civil Services Day event in New Delhi.
“The partnership will allow officials across various departments to undergo structured training, equipping them with modern technologies and updated administrative methods,” Sinha said, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing industrialization and fostering investment in the state.
Dr. R. Balasubrahmanyam of the Skill Development Commission expressed optimism that this initiative would significantly elevate the skill sets and operational standards of the state’s administrative machinery.
The ceremony also featured speeches from Apurba Roy, Shobhana Rana, S.P. Roy, and Arpita Chowdhury, Assistant Professor at SIPARD, who discussed the expected positive impacts of the training programs on Tripura’s public sector workforce.
