he Tripura Pradesh Congress on Saturday launched a sharp attack on both the BJP-led Central Government and the state's "double-engine" government, expressing serious concern over the country's education system, competitive examinations, and employment situation.
In a statement, Congress leaders alleged that repeated incidents of question paper leaks, re-examinations, and irregularities in major examinations such as NEET and CBSE have created an atmosphere of uncertainty and frustration among students across the country.
The party claimed that over the past decade, poverty and despair have forced many students to discontinue their studies. It further alleged that despite several examination-related controversies, the Central Government has failed to take effective corrective measures, adversely affecting the future of millions of students.
Referring to the recent NEET controversy, Congress alleged that four aspirants had died by suicide in the last month and criticized the government for resorting to administrative reshuffles instead of conducting a thorough investigation and taking strict action against those responsible.
The party also raised concerns about CBSE's digital evaluation system and questioned the role of agencies involved in the process, alleging a lack of transparency and accountability.
Congress further alleged that a protest rally organized by the Youth Congress, NSUI, and Mahila Congress in Agartala on May 15 was attacked with the support of the ruling party to disrupt a peaceful demonstration.
On the issue of employment, the party accused the Central Government of failing to address rising unemployment. It claimed that lakhs of vacancies remain unfilled in government departments and that flagship schemes such as "Make in India" and "Mudra Yojana" have not delivered the expected results.
Highlighting the situation in Tripura, the Congress alleged that the state's unemployment rate remains higher than the national average and that recruitment processes in various government departments, including the education sector, lack transparency.
The party also demanded an investigation into alleged irregularities in the recently conducted TPSC Joint Lecturer Recruitment Examination.
Congress urged the Central Government to ensure transparency in examinations, take strict action against those involved in irregularities, and restore the confidence of students and youth across the country.
