Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday launched a strong attack on Tipra Motha, alleging that the party has misled tribal communities and is rapidly losing its political ground. He expressed confidence that voters would reject the party in the upcoming TTAADC elections.

Addressing a public rally in Ampinagar in support of the BJP’s ADC candidate, Dr. Saha said that tribal communities would no longer be “cheated” by Tipra Motha. “The ground has slipped beneath their feet, and they have now resorted to violence and hooliganism,” he claimed.

The Chief Minister also welcomed 427 voters who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party during the rally.

Highlighting development initiatives, Dr. Saha said that significant infrastructure projects are transforming Tripura, including the construction of multiple national highways. “Even remote areas like Ampi are now witnessing development that was once unimaginable. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy, Tripura is progressing rapidly,” he said.

He further noted that many of these highway projects pass through tribal areas, bringing economic benefits to local communities through land compensation and improved connectivity.

Urging voters to support BJP candidates, Dr. Saha said, “This election is an opportunity to make history. People want peace and development, not intimidation and violence.”

The Chief Minister accused Tipra Motha of misleading people and engaging in aggressive tactics, including alleged attacks on political opponents. “They are trying to stay relevant through muscle power, but people have understood their intentions,” he said.

Emphasizing inclusive leadership, Dr. Saha pointed out that leaders from various communities—including tribal, SC, and Bengali backgrounds—have held the Chief Minister’s position in Tripura. He called for genuine representation from grassroots tribal communities in the ADC to ensure real development.

“We don’t need symbolic leaders; we need representatives from ordinary tribal families who can truly work for the people,” he added.

Regarding the upcoming ADC elections scheduled for April 12, Dr. Saha said the BJP would contest 28 seats and expressed confidence in a decisive victory. “The results on April 17 will bring happiness to BJP supporters. We are committed to eliminating corruption and ensuring development,” he stated.

The rally was attended by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, BJP District General Secretary Prashanta Poddar, Janajati Morcha Vice President Nakshatra Jamatia, ADC candidate Saudagar Kalai, and several other party leaders.
