Rajeswar Debbarma, former MLA, spokesperson of the Tipra Motha Party, and the party’s candidate for the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election, has expressed strong confidence that his party will secure a resounding victory, improving on its performance from the last election.
Debbarma, who is contesting from the Kulai‑Champahour seat, said Tipra Motha has witnessed a significant surge in public support, crediting the party’s growing appeal to the leadership of royal figure Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma.
“Our support base and the enthusiasm among voters have increased compared to previous polls. Our foremost objective is to protect the rights and future of our indigenous communities. Another major focus remains our demand for separate states,” he said.
Debbarma also slammed the State Government for failing to allocate adequate funds to the TTAADC despite repeated appeals.
“We have been urging the state to financially empower the district council and release more development funds, but our requests have gone unheeded. In the face of this financial crunch, the Maharaja and our party have been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people. This is why there is a strong wave of support in favor of strengthening Maharaja Pradyot’s leadership and the Tipra Motha Party,” he added.
He asserted that the party is “200 percent” certain of not only winning but also surpassing last year’s victory margin, maintaining that there are no serious challengers in the fray this time.
Responding to reports about some individuals joining the BJP, Debbarma said such developments have not impacted Tipra Motha’s prospects, suggesting that those who switched allegiance did so for personal reasons.
