Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday stated that preparations are actively underway in Tripura for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, emphasizing that the process aims to ensure that no genuine voter is excluded.

Speaking at an organizational programme held at Bhagat Singh Yuva Awas in Agartala, the Chief Minister said that the SIR exercise has already been initiated across several parts of the country and completed in many regions.

“While the process is still pending in some states, including Tripura, it may begin here at any time. Preparatory work is currently in progress, and officials are engaged in necessary groundwork. Once the official notification is issued, the process will gain momentum,” Dr. Saha said.

He further noted that electoral roll revision is a routine exercise conducted by the Election Commission to maintain accuracy and inclusivity in the voter list.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, the Chief Minister said the revision process is crucial to ensure that every eligible citizen is able to exercise their democratic right to vote.

“A workshop has been organized to discuss how we can extend support once the process begins in Tripura and what role our party can play to ensure that no genuine voter is left out,” he added.

The event was attended by BJP All India General Secretary Tarun Chugh, former MP Vinod Sonkar, MP and State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya, along with party leaders and workers from various levels.
