Telangana Governor and former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday described Operation Sindoor as a proud moment for India, calling it a landmark in the nation’s history.

Speaking at a blood donation camp in Agartala, Dev Varma highlighted the operation's significance, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in taking decisive action against terrorism.

"Operation Sindoor is a matter of national pride. After a long time, India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, several terrorist camps were destroyed. This will be remembered as one of the defining milestones in our country's history. We have shown the world how India deals with terrorism," he said.

He also drew attention to the government's intensified operations against Maoist insurgents, emphasizing that peace is essential for development.

"Active operations are underway against Maoist groups, especially in districts long affected by the issue. Their numbers are decreasing due to our strong and proactive measures. Peace is a prerequisite for development, and we are committed to maintaining it," he said.

Commenting on the importance of voluntary blood donation, the Governor noted a growing national shortage and appreciated the role of youth in addressing it.

“There is an acute shortage of blood across the country. In Telangana too, we are organising similar donation drives. Blood cannot be manufactured—it has to be donated. The youth of Tripura have always come forward generously in this cause, and their commitment continues to inspire,” he added.
