The announcement came during the inauguration of a new 132 kV substation in Amarpur, Gomati District, constructed under a ₹1,800 crore modernization project supported jointly by the Government of India and the World Bank.
“The construction of this substation will benefit residents across Amarpur, Chelagang, Rangamati, Malbasa, Thalchhara, Debbati, Anaraibari, Kasko, Khamariabari, and nearby areas,” said Nath.
He emphasized that several key initiatives are being undertaken to further strengthen the state’s power infrastructure. Out of nine planned 132 kV substations under the current project, eight have already been completed, while work is ongoing on the remaining two.
