Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that the government is working with special emphasis on the overall development of the janajatis and initiatives have been taken to provide quality education to janajati children, for which approval has been given to appoint 170 wardens in janajati hostels.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha said this at a joining program where 487 people from 125 families joined the BJP, which was organized by the Golaghati Mandal of the Bharatiya Janata Party today.
While addressing the gathering, Dr. Saha said, “I remember I came to this hall in 2018. I was given the responsibility of in-charge of the booth management committee of all Tripura at that time. I had to come to this hall to train polling agents. At that time, the road condition was such that it was not clear when I would reach. And now I can reach very quickly. Earlier, there was an atmosphere of panic about the communists. An atmosphere of fear was always created among the janajatis then. The Bharatiya Janata Party is working to overcome that,” he said.
The Chief Minister said, if anyone has done anything for the janajatis or will continue to do so in the future, it is the BJP-led government. And that is only possible with the dedicated efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP All India President J.P. Nadda are very sincere about the welfare of the janajati people. The Bharatiya Janata Party wants to stand by the people through work. In the coming days, one BJP worker will go to every family with the work being done for the development of the janajatis. Under the Prime Minister's guidance, our state has won national recognition for excellence in the country in the Dharti Awa Jan Bhagidari campaign. North Tripura district has won the President's honor for implementing PM Janman,” he said.
He also said that no government had taken any initiative to solve the 23-year-old problem of the Bru Reang people. “But after our government came to power, under the guidance of the Prime Minister and the dedicated efforts of the Union Home Minister, arrangements have been made for their rehabilitation. About Rs 800 crore has been allocated for this. Our government has made arrangements to show due respect to the Maharajas,” said Dr. Saha.
The Chief Minister said that the development of any country or state is not possible without peace. He further informed that about 29 new hostels and 44 janajati schools have been built for janajati students, and approval has been given to appoint 170 wardens in janajati hostels. Arrangements are being made to teach our culture in Eklavya Model Residential Schools.
The meeting was attended by BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharya, state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, district president Biplab Chakraborty, former MLA Birendra Kishore Debbarma, Golaghati Mandal president Narayan Debnath, ADC member Sanjib Reang, and other leaders and workers.
