In a significant event at the revered Mata Tripura Sundari temple, 16 Pranami boxes were opened after nearly two months of anticipation.

The temple, situated in the heart of Gomati district, is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Tripura, and this opening ceremony revealed a substantial collection of currency from across the globe.

As per officials , the 16 Pranami boxes, which had been sealed for a considerable period, were opened this morning in the presence of a special team formed by the office of the District Magistrate (DM) of Gomati.

The team, consisting of 16 members, was tasked with counting the offerings, which included not only Indian currency but also foreign currencies like US dollars, Kuwaiti dinars, Nepalese rupees, and Bangladeshi taka.

The counting process, which commenced at dawn, was completed by 7 pm under tight security in the temple premises. Deputy Collector Kalidas Ghosh confirmed that the total amount found in the boxes was Rs 11 lakh 16 thousand 695, which will be allocated for various temple needs, including renovation work, maintenance, and religious ceremonies.
