A 13-year-old Class VII student of PM Shri Girls’ School was found dead at her rented accommodation in Ward No. 8 of Sabroom Nagar Panchayat on Tuesday morning, leaving family members and local residents shocked.

The deceased was identified as D. Sampari Tripura, daughter of Kishore Tripura, an SPO jawan posted at East Ludua. She had been residing as a tenant at the house of Biswajit Basak.

According to preliminary information, the girl had spent Monday night at the residence of a female friend before returning to her rented accommodation early Tuesday. She was later found unresponsive inside her room.

Following the incident, personnel from Sabroom Police Station reached the spot and launched an investigation. A forensic team from Belonia was also called to examine the scene and assist police in establishing the circumstances surrounding the death.

The body was recovered and further procedures are being carried out as part of the investigation. Police are examining the circumstances preceding the incident and gathering information from family members and others who may have been in contact with the girl.

The incident has sparked concern among residents and renewed discussion about the emotional well-being of children and adolescents. Experts and child-safety advocates have often stressed the importance of creating supportive environments where young people can openly discuss emotional difficulties and seek help.

Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the death would become clearer after the completion of the investigation and forensic examination.
