Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy today inspected the preparedness to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day which will be held on June 21, with the state-level program slated to take place at the International Exhibition Hall in Hapania, Agartala.
Minister Tinku Roy visited the Hapania International Fair premises on Friday to review the final preparations, ensuring smooth execution of the event.
He informed that the program will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, aligning with this year’s theme—‘One World, One Health’.
Minister Roy said the celebration in Tripura is part of a nationwide observance being held at one lakh locations, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The central government also aims to set up 1,000 yoga parks across the country to promote a healthier lifestyle through yoga,” he added.
The grand yoga demonstration at Hapania will witness participation from personnel of Tripura Police, BSF, CRPF, TSR, NCC, NYKS, NSS, Scouts and Guides, school students, social organizations, yoga practitioners, and various government employees.
A mega blood donation camp will also be held to mark the occasion.
In addition to the central event, Yoga Day will be observed in all districts, subdivisions, and blocks of the state. Iconic heritage sites like Unakoti will host special yoga sessions to highlight the cultural and spiritual significance of the practice.
